I Left Everything Behind
poem by
Sherry Bagnato
One morning, it all made sense.
Clarity came quickly
Or maybe it was a quiet unraveling
Once it began, there was no stopping
The drawer I didn’t refill
The messages I stopped returning
The clothes I sent to Goodwill
The car I left in the forest
Then I disappeared
