Into the Lights: A Toronto Fairy Tale Solo Exhibition by Wanchae Lee

Into the Lights follows a young witch through Toronto as she moves from one familiar spot to the next, longing to become one of the city’s many lights. The series is drawn as a fairy tale and draws on the artist’s own years as a university student newly arrived in the city. It reflects her experience as an immigrant finding a place in a new home. The exhibition presents eight original works in watercolour and oil pastel, created for a forthcoming picture book. They are shown alongside the sketches and drawing studies behind them. Oct 27 – 31, 2026 Opening Reception: Wednesday, October 28, 5:30 – 7:30 pm Laird Art Gallery, 72 Laird Dr, East York
